ISO 27001 certification reinforces Tribe Payments’ operational resilience and platform stability, signalling its commitment to safeguarding critical IT infrastructure amid evolving threats

We are delighted to announce Tribe Payments has achieved ISO 27001 certification, the strongest possible global information security standard.

With this globally trusted stamp of approval, Tribe assures payment ecosystem players of its operational resilience and ability to safeguard critical IT infrastructure from rapidly advancing cybersecurity threats.

ISO 27001 certification demonstrates that Tribe has implemented robust information security and risk management systems to protect information confidentiality, integrity, and availability in today’s evolving cyber landscape. This milestone marks an important step in Tribe’s global growth as it adds more clients worldwide, and evidences its ability to protect its platform, services, and client data as it continues to expand.

It is also notoriously difficult to achieve the ISO 27001 certification, as the process requires rigorous assessments and audits of Tribe’s information security management systems and data security safeguards, which were undertaken by world-leading testing and certification provider Bureau Veritas.

Tribe’s risk management and governance frameworks were also evaluated to ensure continuous operational resilience and enterprise-wide protection of data in both digital and physical formats, along with guaranteed centralisation of information.

Fadl Mantash, Chief Information Security Officer at Tribe, commented: “We’re delighted to announce our achievement of the ISO 27001 certification. As cyberattacks and data breaches are increasing and mutating to evade detection, any business handling data needs to ensure that every possible action has been taken to strengthen cybersecurity. Tribe was required to show its ability to withstand and fend off cyberattacks, demonstrate competence in managing threats, and prove continuous and robust information confidentiality, integrity and availability before being granted certification.

“Following certification, we also underwent periodic internal audits and surveillance audits by external bodies to ensure that these stringent data security standards are consistently maintained.”

With ISO 27001 certification, Tribe Payments is set to accelerate its expansion, amid surging demand for its services. Tribe’s revenue snowballed by an impressive 73% from 2022 to 2023, with its growth continuing this year thanks to newly onboarded clients and their increased uptake of products.

Andrew Hocking, CEO of Tribe Payments, added: "With so many businesses entrusting us with their transactions, ISO 27001 certification marks an important milestone for Tribe. As new cybersecurity risks emerge, and as regulators increasingly demand evidence of operational resilience, this important certification gives our clients and partners the assurances of our system and service stability, and it forms an important part of our global expansion plans. We are continuously investing in our infrastructure, risk management, and data capabilities to ensure we stay at the forefront of payment technology innovation.
